Fort Worth, Texas - Sun damage has been determined as the major cause of wrinkles,
as well as more serious skin conditions. With the new season comes
more outdoor activities, and protection from harmful UV rays is an
important part of any skin care regime.
According to
David Pollock, a founder of Medi-Cell Laboratories and a director of
Clinical Results, Inc., a private product development firm used as a
"thick tank" by cosmetic and skin care companies, products
containing 70 mg. of stabilized vitamin C can help protect skin from
damaging UV rays.
"Vitamin C
is a natural sunscreen, and at the same time, it has the power to repair
damaged skin by promoting new cell growth and acting as an
anti-oxidant," Pollock says.
he added that
vitamin C should not be used in place of a sunscreen, but rather as an
additional layer of protection. For example, Pollock recommends
Hydrox-C Facial Concentrate, an intensive serum that blends 23% Triple
Action Vitamin C Complex, the highest level on the market, with 21
restorative and soothing botanicals and proteins.
He noted that
Hydrox-C's Facial Concentrate is a non-irritating formulation that can
be used by every skin type. Several drops smoothed over the face
and neck until absorbed provides a foundation of sun protection over
which a sunscreen can be added.
"This
provides a dual benefit," Pollock says. "While you're
protecting, you're also repairing. The Facial Concentrate delivers
vitamin C to increase the production of collagen, the essential
connective tissue in skin. And collagen is what gives skin its firmness
and smoothness."
Pollock added
that Hydrox-C's Facial Concentrate also is ideal for use after time in
the sun because vitamin C acts as an anti-inflammatory, quickly
returning the skin to its proper pH balance, while botanical extracts
such as sea kelp, green tea, ginseng, kola nut, rosemary, sage, ginko
biloba and wheat protein, help soothe and replenish dry skin.
Have fun in the
sun, but remember to protect while doing it.
