Cosmetic Surgery

GET THE BEST RESULT
FROM YOUR COSMETIC SURGERY
Fort Worth,
Texas -Each year millions of people
turn to cosmetic surgery as a way to look younger. What many don’t know is the crucial role the condition of one’s
skin before and after the surgery plays in achieving the best results.
“Those
considering a cosmetic surgery need to realize that the better condition their
skin is in before a procedure, the
better the end result will be,” said David Pollock, vice president of product
development for Medi-Cell Laboratories.
“Implementing a therapeutic skin care regimen before the surgery will ensure the skin is in its optimum
condition. Maintaining that regimen after the surgery will aid in the
healing process and enhance the overall effect.”
Pollock
said that recent breakthroughs in vitamin C skin care formulations have brought
about highly effective products designed to repair skin damage caused by sun
exposure, the environment and the natural aging process. He says these can be extremely beneficial in
pre- and post-surgical procedures because they promote the production of
collagen, the fibrous protein that makes skin firm and supple.
“Increased collagen can
strengthen the skin before and after a cosmetic procedure, and non-irritating
vitamin C products with high levels of active ingredients can promote the
healing process,” Pollock said.
Vitamin C is a natural
healing agent and essential for the production of connective tissue in the
skin. In post-surgical situations, a
non-irritating, therapeutic vitamin C treatment can speed healing by reducing
swelling and bruising, because it is both an anti-oxidant and an
anti-inflammatory.
Pollock recommends two vitamin C
products (used in combination for ultimate benefit) for both pre- and post
surgery regimens – Hydrox-C Age Lift
Facial Concentrate and Hydrox-C Intensive Cell Therapy. Both contain a complex that combines three
types of non-irritating vitamin C with a non-irritating alpha hydroxy
acid (AHA) in neutral pH formulas that are absorbed at the stratum basale layer
of the skin where new cells are generated.
According to Pollock, the vitamin C complex rejuvenates and repairs,
while the AHA gently rids the skin of wrinkle-producing dead cells.
Other post-surgery tips offered
by Pollock include staying out of the sun and using a vitamin C moisturizer
regularly.
A good skin care regimen before
and after a cosmetic surgery procedure can aid healing and enhance a more
youthful appearance.
Editor’s Note – David Pollock has been instrumental in the development of therapeutic
skin care products for the some of the most well known companies in the
industry. He also serves on the board
of Clinical Results, Inc., an independent product development laboratory.
